The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time

  We just finish reading a book called “The Curious Incident of the dog in the Night-time” by Mark Haddon. I really liked this book; it is about an autistic boy that insisted in discovered who was the one who killed Wellington which was the neighbor’s dog. When he was investigating about this murder he found out things that he shouldn’t know. This autistic boy called Christopher lived with his father because his mother left him alone and went to live to London with the neighbor’s husband. It is a mystery book because it doesn’t tell who really killed the dog until the last pages. I would recommend this book firstly because it is interesting and it is not boring and also because it is easy to understand so you don’t have to think a lot of what happened. The father lost Christopher’s trust because Christopher insisted in knowing the truth and this brought consequences that affected everybody. What really happened was that the mother left the father alone with Christopher; because she didn’t have the patient that is needed to raise an autistic boy like him. The father told Christopher that mother was dead; because he didn’t know how to tell him that she left without making him suffer and also he hid some letters that the mother has sent to him. He also confessed that he killed Wellington the dog because he confused the relationship between the neighbor and him; he thought that the neighbor preferred the dog before of him and Christopher so he killed it. It is a book that can show you that the autistic people can see the world from a different perspective that we do. Also we can learn from it that running from our problems is not a solution and that is better to face it before it gets bigger and bigger every day. 

Spring Break

Last week was spring break and I went to the U.S.A. I had a really good time because I went to the Lady GaGa’s concert; it was full of people but it was super organize because it didn’t require to make a line to enter. The stage was decorated every time she sang a new song and she changed herself every two songs. There was also a lot of Lady Gaga’s wannabe; the people were dressed like her with high heels and wigs and short skirts. I had an awesome time because she sang all the songs that she had recorded till now. At the beginning of the show there was a unknown band that sang before Lady GaGa did, they were called the Semiprecious Band it was really awkward because it was a guy who sang and he was wearing high heels and skirt and he had make-up all over his face; I didn’t pay attention to the band but the music was very weird and also they gave up some T-shirts but I couldn’t get one because I was all the way up very far away from the stage but I could see all the show perfectly. The band started to play at 8:30 pm and Lady GaGa went out at 9:30 pm it was over at 12:30 even though she got out late it ended early. She really sings very well in person; also she went out with some weird outfits but the decoration and everything was excellent. I hope to go again to a concert like these supers organize good decoration and excellent sound. I couldn’t take pictures because the staff people didn’t permit it but I could record some voice notes. Someone told that Lady GaGa fell down the piano when she was doing her concert in Boston I laughed so much but after she fell she started singing like nothing had happened to dissimulate. I hope this experience can be repeated in the future. 

Does the Internet causes Addiction?

-          There are too many web pages that had caused too many problems during years. Web pages like Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, MySpace, and others had caused a big impact on people. A lot of people had become addicted to the internet and the addiction is too big that most of the people had all these applications installed in their mobile phone so this way they can be all day connected no matter where they are. Teenagers and even smaller kids prefer to be on the internet before doing their homework or studying; these is a big conflict discussed during years because if it continues like this most of the kids would decide not to go to school so this way they can have the entire day to play or to stay connected on the internet. In Italy there is already two hospitals that take care of the addiction caused by the internet this had been called “Internet Addiction Disorder.” The people who really are addicted to web pages is easy to recognize because those people prefer not to eat because they think if they go they would miss something in the page they are connected or they would prefer not to shower and also they can spend hours and hours in front of the computer without moving or stretching. This can cause a problem in people’s sight because they wouldn’t like move from the computer or relax a little bit their eyes. Even though the bad things that these web pages can cause, it can be used for good reasons; like for example Facebook can be used to find old friends you haven’t seen during years, or  YouTube, it can help you find interesting videos like recent news or videos for homework, or other things. 

Sweets

I like to eat sweet things like candies, lollipops, gummies, chocolate and strawberry cakes; I also like to eat ice-cream. I don’t eat sweet things every day but occasionally, there are different types of flavors in sweet things like chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, coconut, and artificial flavors from the fruits. I love ice-cream especially when the weather is hot; like vanilla and chocolate ice-cream or vanilla and peach flavor ice-cream. There are some articles that talk about sweet things and it says that the sweet things make kids more active and I think it is true because my brother eats a lot of candies and he is always active.  Well my favorite chocolate is from the chocolate store that is located in United State it is called Godiva. I also like to chew a lot of gum even though I can’t chew gum because now I have braces but I love a gum called Orbit, it has different type of flavors and my favorite is the one with mint. I enjoy eating a candy that can’t be found here in Venezuela is called Twizzlers and it is a long stick which is tangled and you have to chew it a lot; that candy has flavors like strawberry and cherries. I really prefer the candies from the United Sates than from Venezuela because the candies from there have a better tastes than the one from here.

First Semester en High School

This first semester was hard because I am new at the school and I was trying to get used to it and now that I am used to it, I can do better this semester. It was very hard to get used to all the homework the teacher sent because in my other school usually the didn't send all that homework that I have to do in this school but even though it was great this first semester and I hope this second semester will be like the first one. The thing I like the most is that when there are new people in the school, the old people come to them and offer their help if they need something and the teachers offer help to the students if they need them, too. The finals exam weren't easy but they weren't hard either, I study all I can for this exams; I think I did good in someones but in other not so good but I hope to raise my grade in those subjects that I am failing now that I used to everything in this school. In the first semester of high school there were a lot of sports and club that you can get in and I think this semester  would be more things you can do. Unfortunately we couldn't end the semester, our classes got cancelled because of the heavy rain that was falling so we got two more weeks of vacations but the teachers sent homework via e-mail. Even though the two vacations week I had to stay in my house doing homework I had a good time those two weeks and in holidays and I hope everyone had good holidays, too.
